We investigate first
Before we make a demand or file a complaint, we gather the records, consult the right experts, and learn what happened and why.

Our Firm
Who we are
Woodward Ortiz is a Georgia trial firm founded by Natalie Woodward and Will Ortiz. We represent individuals and families in serious injury and wrongful death cases, with a particular focus on psychiatric malpractice, including suicide and overdose deaths in behavioral health and treatment facilities, along with medical malpractice and claims against institutions that fail to protect the people in their care.
We started this firm to practice law the way we believe it should be practiced: a limited number of cases, each one led by a partner, each one worked up as though it will be tried. Our clients work directly with us—not through layers of staff. They have our cell phone numbers, they know the lawyers handling their case, and we make ourselves available when they need us. We treat our clients like family because, when someone trusts us with one of the hardest chapters of their life, that is the level of commitment they deserve.
How we work
Before we make a demand or file a complaint, we gather the records, consult the right experts, and learn what happened and why.
Insurance companies and hospital systems know which lawyers will try a case. We prepare every file with that end in mind. Most cases still resolve before trial; the ones that do resolve do so on better terms because we are ready.
A serious injury or the loss of a family member reshapes a household. We explain the process in plain language, return calls, and make sure clients are never guessing about where their case stands.
Claims against hospitals, behavioral health systems, national organizations, and large companies are expensive and heavily defended. That is the work we chose.
Contingency fee
We handle injury and wrongful death cases on a contingency fee. You pay no retainer and no hourly bills. We advance the costs of investigating and litigating the case, and our fee is a percentage of what we recover for you. If there is no recovery, you owe us no fee.
Free case review
If you or someone you love has been seriously hurt, send us a message. The conversation is free and confidential.
